PPP skirting boardA skirting board made of porous polypropylene is a decorative element installed along the lower part of the wall to cover the joint between the wall and the floor. Thanks to the adhesive base, it is easy to install without the use of additional materials and is an ideal addition to various interior solutions.

The skirting board consists of the following layers:

1. PVC film (front side) is a polymer consisting of long chains of vinyl chloride molecules, which contain chlorine atoms, which makes the material resistant to chemicals, and due to the amorphous structure, PVC is very elastic, has a low weight and is resistant to mechanical damage.
2. Decorative layer: high-quality color printing that retains its saturation for a long time.
3. The main layer of cellular polypropylene (CPP) is a thermoplastic polymer, its structure includes repeating molecular units of propylene. The structure of CPP is cellular, due to which the material has good thermal insulation and low density, and therefore low weight. Porous polypropylene is also resistant to moisture and chemically inert.
4. Foil layer: the main property of this layer is the reflection of heat waves, which allows minimizing heat loss, thereby improving the thermal insulation of the room.
5. Adhesive layer: non-toxic base with high adhesion level.
6. Protective film – protects the adhesive layer from drying out and contamination, easily removed during installation.

Calculation of the required amount of material:

1. Measure the length of the surface to be pasted over. To do this, you need to calculate the perimeter of the room. For example, the lengths of the walls of the room are 5.60 m and 3.20 m, then the perimeter of the room is P = 5.6 * 2 + 3.2 * 2 = 17.6 m.
2. The resulting perimeter must be divided by the length of one baseboard (2.32 m) and rounded up: 17.6/2.32 = 7.58 rounded up to 8 pieces.
3. During installation, waste may occur due to trimming the skirting board, so it is recommended to add 1-2 strips to the calculation.

Requirements for surfaces

For successful installation of adhesive baseboards, the surface on which they will be installed must be:

1. clean (free from dust, dirt, grease and other contaminants);
2. smooth, without noticeable irregularities or cracks (use putty or filler if necessary);
3. dry (moisture can affect the adhesive base and its adhesive properties);
4. heat, from 18ºС to 25ºС (for better adhesion of the adhesive layer to the surface);
5. no fungus or mold;
6. without old wallpaper or other decorative elements;

If the wall has been painted or coated with any other material, a primer coat is required to ensure good adhesion.

Editing:

7. It is necessary to make sure that the surface on which the skirting boards are supposed to be glued meets the requirements listed above. There should be no drafts in the room during installation work.
8. Gradually begin to remove the protective film on the back of the skirting board to reveal the adhesive surface.
9. You should start installation from one corner and gently press the skirting board onto the surface, making sure that it is installed evenly and neatly, avoiding the formation of bubbles or wrinkles.
10. The skirting board can be cut using a utility knife or scissors to fit it to size, especially around the edges and corners of the surface.
11. The skirting board should be pressed firmly against the surface with your hand or a rubber roller to ensure good adhesion between it and the base.
12. Skirting boards cannot be re-glued.

Care instructions:

Do not use brushes and sponges with abrasive properties, detergents with a high concentration of alkalis or acids. To remove dirt, it is better to use textile or viscose napkins with the use of mild household chemicals.
